Cognito Truck Lift Systems are generally categorized by “lift height”, for example 4”, 6”, 8”, etc. Once you’ve decided on your desired lift height, the next requirement is to choose your vehicle’s front-to-rear height relationship, or “rake,” which is the angle of the truck’s chassis and body in relation to its resting stance on level ground. When selecting the kits and components to build your complete lift package we start you off with a base front suspension lift kit or FSLK, according to the general lift height you have selected. You will then be presented with a series of options that enable you to achieve your desired rake along with a variety of component options that will help you build the Cognito Lift package you’re after.
Cognito 4” Lift – FSLK (Begin building your 4” GM 1500/2500 HD Lift Package)The Cognito 4” FSLK (Front Suspension Lift Kit) for 2001-2010 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks is a true 4" lift that retains stock (original) tie rod and axle angles. This kit is a “non-torsion bar drop” design which keeps the torsion bars in their original location rather than hanging down under the chassis. Front track width is increased by 5/8" per side in order to retain proper caster settings and functional electronic stabilizing control. A skid plate is incorporated to protect the front differential, along with a sub frame connector that ties the new front and rear cross members together for added rigidity. The kit also includes heavy duty sway bar end links and our patented Cognito Pitman and Idler Arm Support Kit—a must-have upgrade that corrects a design flaw in Chevy and GMC truck steering systems. All provided steel bracketry is finished in semi-gloss black powder coating, and all required mounting hardware is included. This kit is not a complete lift package, so it does not include shocks or rear suspension lift components.
