Outbound Sales Manager

The Cognito Outbound Sales Manager will be a highly driven and experienced automotive aftermarket industry sales professional, with a proven track record of successfully organizing and managing outbound sales and marketing efforts across passenger truck and UTV aftermarket product channels. The position is primarily accountable for new dealer acquisition and contributing to top line sales production, growth, branding and relationship management, which will include developing and activating outbound-specific marketing and sales strategy.


The Outbound Sales Manager plays a critical and leading role in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and executing new growth opportunities outside of the current established Cognito book of business. Motivating channel partners to take action by building trust and enthusiasm in our brand is a requirement. The ideal candidate will seize every opportunity to get in tight with new qualified dealer prospects while helping them to develop lasting relationships with the Cognito brand. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of successful B2B sales experience, very strong attention to detail; and must have strong organization, self-motivation, and be connected to aftermarket truck and UTV product trends.


Core Responsibilities:

 Activate new Dealer Accounts and establish a successful closing rate for opening orders:

  • Continuously hunt, generate and identify qualified sales leads in focused truck and UTV reseller categories primarily through relationship mining, as well as internal and external networking within the truck and UTV aftermarket upfitting industry.
    • Cultivate and call on new prospective partners that fit within the company’s growth plan. Continuously maintain a high level of communication with prospective new dealers on, while building a robust, prequalified sales list.
    • Most importantly, be able to close on those leads.

 Development of Best Practice Guide & Processes:

  • Take charge by developing new Standard Operating Procedures so we can build out scalable processes for future outbound sales hires.

 Internal Reporting, Department KPIs & Goal Setting: 

  • You will work directly with the CEO and Director of Sales & Marketing to set monthly targets. We expect a minimum of six (6) outbound generated new business calls or meetings a week with a goal of uncovering a minimum of ten (10) qualified opportunities a month.

 

Requirements:

  •  Strong connections in the truck and UTV upfitting dealer/reseller space; at least 2-3 years of experience with executing on the full sales cycle for a dealer-direct/retail direct aftermarket automotive or powersports brand.
  • Get-it-done leader with the ability to see new markets and revenue growth opportunities where others lose their confidence.
  • Knowledgeable about the truck and UTV aftermarket product industries (including about our competitors) and can learn fast on the job.
  • Knowledgeable about the automotive and powersports service and product upfitting industries (i.e. suspension, tire/wheel/alignment shops; suspension parts and component retailers with showrooms, etc.).
  • Aggressive and patient with a winning mindset and never give up attitude.
  • Ability to drive interest and meetings with prospective clients over the phone as well as face-to-face.
  • Strong track record of demonstrating individual value through relationship building and management at all levels of an organization, brand side preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; can articulate ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Possess a driver's license and willing to travel for client sales meetings and dealer support.
  • Bachelor's degree, or relevant marketing course work, sales training or focused industry experience.
  • 2+ years relevant CRM experience, preferably in B2B, and specifically related to scheduling, call logging, segmentation, data collection and analytics.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in written presentation format to business leaders at all levels and influence key stakeholders across the prospect organization.
  • Experience with Epicor, SAP or Oracle ERPs and CRM Salesforce or similar platforms a plus.

 

Compensation: Base plus Commission
